Before I even begin, I’d like to start by addressing Israel’s last comment made in response to the entry entitled “Preparation for Parenting”.  We visited my parents last night with my little bro and of course the conversation meandered its way to baby talk…and more specifically labor & delivery talk.  My mom was sharing with us how there are some women who begin speaking very maliciously about their husbands…one in particular that she mentioned was how she recalls a women repeatedly saying, “Kill him!” throughout the labor process.  Israel, the baby still has several months before he needs to eat solid food, so I think Food Network can wait.  So, let’s not unnecessarily lead your laboring wife into temptation.

This past MLK weekend, Jen, Kelly, and Steph helped us get the baby room cleared out and organized.  I’m feeling much better about the coming child’s living environment.  Israel’s parents also bought us some of the necessities that we didn’t have yet so we were able to do some more furnishing and assembling of stuff.  I’ll try to post some pictures of the room if I remember.  I’m so grateful for our friends who so willingly gave us baby supplies that they don’t need anymore…and also for those of you who have given us baby stuff as gifts!  As of now, we already have 800+ diapers for newborn until 15lbs, lots of the cutest clothes, almost all of the large baby necessities (walker, strollers, swings, pack ‘n’ play, car seat etc.), and lots of little things.  God has been so gracious to us!  Probably our largest investment will be when that lucky big-booker comes to our door.  Israel insists that we buy the Bible Stories from a colporteur.  He won’t hear of finding a used set or searching ebay.

Well, Israel is off to New Zealand today with Chester.  I’m praying for safe travels because it is blizzarding outside!  Last night it was wet and rainy, and this morning everything was covered in snow.  I guess winter woke up from his nap.  Hope all is going well with you guys!  I can’t wait to introduce the baby to all of you…

  1. I still can’t believe that my magabookers came on the wrong week to your neighborhood!! Oh well… yes, whichever big booker knocks at your door will be very fortunate. Just be sure and leave some toys in your yard in case they come prospecting while you’re away from the house so they’ll know to come back later.

  2. I was gonna volunteer to be the lucky big-booker at your door, but then i remembered i’ve never big-booked. If i came to your door, YOU’d be the lucky customer, and WIN the whole set. NOW you want me, don’t ya?;)and yeah, israel needs a wee bit of temperance with the foods network.lolnew zealand, eh? when is izzy coming back? i forgot to call him back yesterday @.@ anyway, Judy, i can’t wait to be introduced to little ramos! I am still looking for your baby’s name too, so don’t u fret now. ^^

  3. Judy, does that mean that we’re going to get the food network at home? Sarah, we chose a baby name a long time ago. Ofilio. Filio means “Son” in Latin…”O” — we haven’t discovered what that means yet.

  4. I heard it’s supposed to be 44 degrees tomorrow. Crazy Michigan weather!
I’m glad you’re feeling better prepared these days. Please…let me know if you need anything, okay? I’d love to help. In the meantime, I’m going to work frantically (sort of) on the blanket. I’m excited. It will be my very first anything that I crochet. 🙂

  5. Is Ramosito really going to be called Ofilio?  That’s fabulous!!  Congrats on hoarding more diapers than Costco.  I cannot wait to meet your son.  I hope he has lots of wrinkles on his legs – but only because he’s so well-fed.  I love me a chubby bambino!!

  6. Israel, perhaps food network at home would be worth it.  The 6-day old beans and salty-veggie meat that you packed me today for lunch isn’t settling very well in my stomach…(*gotcha*)
As for the baby’s name being “Ofilio”, I’ve never heard that before.  But Kendra, thanks for being so supportive, even if it was!  Many a mothers have told me never to tell others what you want to name the baby until after the baby comes because people may end up discouraging you, even if it was the one you liked best.

  7. This whole time I thought the baby’s name was going to be IsraelandJudyFilio. (IraelandJudyFil for short.) Oh well. Really, Israel went to the airport on the wrong day?? (Oops, did I say that out loud? Nope.. I just typed it, so that doesn’t count.) I was wondering why it would take so long to arrive there… Anyway, hope you are well! Praying that Iz will be there for the baby. And yeah, let’s keep studying about last day events…

  8. We can’t wait to meet the baby either…^^ I am so with Sarah…I’ll sell you the big book set…oh wait…I never big booked either. *laugh* Some of us were able to bypass that little road to get to magabook head leadership….yes, yes, those exceptions are extremely rare…Safe traveling mercies, Israel…We’ll hope he arrives in time for the baby, Judy…Keeping you in prayer…We’re counting down with you! ^^

  9. Well,, Well, well, i’m glad things are getting settled for the baby Ramosito to come! I’ll give you a few months to enjoy him in peace…..and then I’ll be knocking at your door to sell you the My Bible Friends..first…. and then the Bible Stories and Bedtime Stories…..And you know YOU should be buying them from the Zitas because we have been selling them for years (oh, my it sounds so ancient 😉 and plus I promise you we’ll give you a discount….plus (you see I give you a few deals), we can deliver them personally and all the books wrapped….hahaha! Isn’t that wonderful!Oh, and now they came up with a new set of Bible stories…..you just have to choose from/…… So, I’ll see you in a few months….. All the best Judy and hang in there! (Denisa)
