The First Pics of Baby

Here’s a profile of the baby.  He’s laying on his back with his head is on the right side. You can even see part of his brain (the white mass).  It’s kinda blurry because I tried to laminate the ultrasound pics, but didn’t realize that the type of paper would get ruined by heat…so, after laminating at my school, it turned black!!  I almost started to cry, but contained myself because I had to go back into my classroom to teach.  John Yoonie came to the rescue though, and he helped photoshop the pics back to decency.  (So, FYI, if you guys ever get ultrasound pics done, don’t try to laminate it!)

Here’s a pic of the baby’s foot.  The other foot was also pressed against my uterus like a split second before the lady took the picture but then he backed it away, so you can kinda see part of the other foot to the right.

There are two other ultrasound pics that didn’t get ruined, but Israel keeps those in his wallet.  I’m not sure if he wants to share those pics with us.

Wow, we just put up like 10 posts today.  I hope our bosses don’t find out that we’re wasting the day away by updating our xanga page!

My Students’ Journal Entries on Pregnancy

“I think it’s exciting that Mrs. Ramos is having a baby.  Because for one reason, it’s a boy, and also because it’s my teacher’s baby….I think being pregnant feels like an alien just growing and growing inside of you.  I think it is awesome Mrs. Ramos is having a baby.”     -Justin, 5th Grade

On Mrs. Ramos being pregnant…”I think Mrs. Ramos gained 5 lbs.  I think the baby will be half Spanish, Korean, and English.”

On ever becoming pregnant…”I think ‘no no never never uh uh uh no way’, but at the same time you can do whatever you want with it.”  -Hillary, 4th grade

I hope these are enough pics.

On Sabbath, Judy will be 7 months.  As you can see, she is
starting to show.  She’s been spending a lot of time thinking
about baby names.

Introducing Aroe.  He’s the oldest of all our pets and requires
more sleep than the others do.  Even though he’s the oldest, he’s
the omega pet.

Chance and Aroe are eating together.  Look at Chance’s
teeth.  They can break through bone.  Sorry, Judy, no pics of
Chance by himself.

Although Bentley is the Alpha pet, he doesn’t look too bright in this pic.  But at least he looks cute.

Jen is NOT one of our pets.  She’s just holding one of them.  Thanks Jen!

When Ms. Kim came over to visit.  She is having a deep discussion
about questionable exercise methodology with Jen (but people call her
Moo-Moo).

Thanksgiving Lunch with DKAY (Pastor: Justin Kim).  Pastor David
Shin from Berrien Springs and Jen came to visit.  Joe Lee drove up
from Ohio and Sandra and Dave came all the way from NJ.  Julia,
Arnold’s g-friend visits from Canada.  Pastor JK stands at the
back as to not be contaminated by the crowd.  He’s got a nice hat
though.  Yoonie thinks I’m the pope and he’s trying to kiss my
hand.

Justin, Judy’s younger bro and John Yoon (but people like to call him
Yoonie) come over our place sometimes.  Here are a few pics of
them.  Justin is wearing a little sticker on his shirt because
they donated blood that day.

Yoonie didn’t know that we were going to photograph this event so he’s a bit surprised at first.

Justin in a pensive mood.  Perhaps reflecting on the events of the day.  He & Yoonie donated blood.

The flash on our camera acts up sometimes.  I think it’s too bright.

Justin covering his eyes…just being funny.

The color of their mask is similar to the color of the baby room.

This is Jen busting out some Karate

This is Jen saying “Oh! Stop it!  Get outta here you silly goose”

We promise that Jen is not on drugs

And I’m tempted to post more pics like these but I’ll stop before she uses that one Karate move on me next time she sees me.

Jen & David Brave a Storm!

I ALMOST forgot to mention that last week, Jen and David risked their lives to come spend Thanksgiving with us last week!  Yes, they drove all the way to Ypsi from Berrien Springs in the horrendous weather conditions on that Wednesday…yea, they even suffered a thorn in the flesh when David’s car stalled after an hour of driving!  God worked a miracle to make the car work again after they prayed.  Also, on the way back, the Lord brought them all the way to Berrien Springs because right when they got into town, David’s car died again!  So, mad propz to Jen and David, our faithful friends ’til the end.  We had a blast…(even though the shopping was a shame).

And right HERE, I’d put a picture of us, but Israel has all of them downloaded on his computer.  Maybe next time.

Still Waiting…

I’m still waiting for my wonderful husband to put up some pictures since, after all, we’ve upgraded to premium.  However, this unit in my Bible class, I’m teaching my students about patience, so I should try to be more patient about this one.  Israel downloaded close to a hundred pictures onto his computer from our camera, so hopefully he’ll put some good ones up soon.

Last weekend, Sandra, Hyun, and Charles came to visit from NJ and that was a lot of fun.  We had our annual DKAY brunch grill-out.  It was nice to hang out with all of them.  It’d been a while.  I wish we would have taken more pictures!  Sandra and Hyun also gave us our Christmas presents early…a bunch of baby stuff!!  It’s been really exciting to get so many presents for the baby.  It helps make the experience more real…for me at least.

This Christmas is my dad’s 60th birthday.  We kids are trying to come up with something special to do for him.  Any suggestions?  My sis suggested a cruise and we’re researching that one.  We’re thinking about sending my parents to the West Caribbean.  Hopefully something nice works out.

The baby is kicking like crazy.  Especially in the morning!  He has such a definite sleep/wake cycle that even if I sleep in for even 10 minutes, he starts wiggling in utero and he moves so much against my bladder that he forces me to get up and use the bathroom.  Of course after I get up, he stops moving and is calm again.  He probably goes to sleep after that.  I can see how selfish babies are already!  It’s been a lot of fun though.  The kicking and moving isn’t uncomfortable…yet.  It’s actually very reassuring to me that he’s still alive and active.

Well, I think that’s all for now.  I need to get going because a police man is about to come and talk to my kids about safety…and I can hear that the kids are now done with P.E.  God has been so good to us and I’m so thankful for the many ways that He watches over us.  There is really nothing to complain about.  I hope all of  you are doing well.  Let’s remain faithful to Him always!

Going Premium…

We’ve finally given in and we have now upgraded to Premium.  We hope to put up pictures soon with “my” camera that Israel got me for my birthday last year.  I say “my” in quotations because he begged me to let him buy me a digital Rebel.  (For those who haven’t caught on…HE wanted the camera and used my birthday as an excuse to buy it so he could use it!)  I’m not bitter though.    Anyhow, we haven’t used it much because we lost our battery charger for several months…but Daniel & Kerri so graciously let us charge our battery with their charger so, now we can use our camera!  Hopefully the upgrade will inspire us to take more pictures with Israel’s — I mean — MY camera.

On being pregnant…I’ve been getting random calf cramps in my legs when I stretch in the morning.  Just one of those pregnancy symptoms that seem to have no apparent correlation to growing a baby!  Anyhow, I weighed myself this morning and I have succcessfully gained 10 lbs since pre-pregnancy!  I think that’s pretty normal weight gain for a first time mother.  Usually first time moms take longer to get big.  I am in my 23rd week, which means I’ve entered into the 6th month.  The baby is moving around so much.  The movements are getting stronger that Israel was able to feel the baby move the other morning.  Maybe Israel can give you guys more commentary on that experience.  The baby is still small so the bigger movements that we feel are when the baby actually does somersaults.  Feels like a fish squirming around my bladder.

On baby room preparation…a big THANK YOU to John Yoon and my bro, Justin for finishing up painting the baby’s room.  It is a color called “soothing aloe”.  It looks really nice.  We didn’t get a chance to put the room back in order last night, but it will be nice to finally have that room available to use.  Israel and I started painting it maybe like 3 months ago and we haven’t used the room since then!  Now, for all of our over-night guests (like Jeannie & Jen this weekend!!) you’ll be able to sleep in a bedroom and not on the office floor…at least until the baby comes!
